BBQ Chicken Drumsticks Peach Glaze (Printer-Friendly)

Grilled chicken drumsticks glazed in a spicy-sweet peach sauce, caramelized to a sticky, tangy finish.

# What You'll Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 8 chicken drumsticks
02 - 1 tbsp olive oil
03 - 1 tsp kosher salt
04 - 1/2 tsp black pepper

→ Spicy Peach Glaze

05 - 2/3 cup peach preserves or jam
06 - 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
07 - 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
08 - 1 tbsp soy sauce (use gluten-free if needed)
09 - 1–2 tsp hot sauce, to taste
10 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
11 - 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

# Method:

01 - Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F/180°C).
02 - Pat chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Rub with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
03 - In a small saucepan, combine peach preserves, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, hot sauce, garlic, and ginger. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened, 3–5 minutes. Set aside.
04 - Place drumsticks on the grill. Cook for 25–30 minutes, turning every 5–7 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and skin is golden.
05 - During the last 10 minutes of grilling, brush the drumsticks generously with the spicy peach glaze, turning and glazing a few times until sticky and caramelized.
06 - Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot with extra glaze on the side, if desired.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • This glaze turns basic chicken into something your friends will think took hours to master.
  • The juicy meat and the sweet heat of the peach sauce are honestly addictive, perfect for casual cookouts or weeknight dinners.
02 -
  • If you glaze too early, the sugars will burn before the chicken cooks through (I learned that the crispy way).
  • Letting the chicken rest is what keeps every bite juicy—those five minutes really matter.
03 -
  • Pat the chicken super dry for the crispiest skin—moisture is the enemy of browning.
  • Use a silicone basting brush for effortless glazing and easy cleanup—that sauce is sticky for a reason.
